Our Guest Reviews

Please take a look at what some of our guests had to say about their stay at Aruba Sunset Beach Studios.

On our 3rd vacation to Aruba, we decided to do something different and stayed at Sunset Beach Resort and have absolutely no regrets! JP and Eve have something very special here! Such a clean, friendly and romantic setting, the sunsets are great and staff and other guests are exceptional! You want to rent a vehicle to explore the island and the wonderful restaurants on the island. They also have a book of the island they made that gives very helpful advise of everything on the island to do. The beach in front of the studios is a little rocky but you just have to jump in the car for a couple miles to beautiful sandy beaches to the left or right of the studios. If you are looking peace and quiet, friendly guests and staff we highly recommend staying here...we will be back as well as recommending to all our friends!
We just returned from 8 nights at Sunset Beach Studios. It's just a delight. Well maintained, friendly and so very relaxing. It's like a small community with friendly neighbors. The palapa on the north end of the garden is a great place to gather for breakfast or the necessary happy hour discussion about what folks are doing for dinner. We'll be back next year.
We spent the week of February 16-23 here in Garden Studio 2 and couldn't have been happier with the location, cleanliness, and charm of Sunset Studios! The owners and staff all love their jobs and it shows. Far enough away from the crazy crowds but close to beautiful beaches! Stores and restaurants close by. We would recommend Sunset Beach studios to anyone and everyone! Thank You for a wonderful time, and can't wait to be back!
It was our first trip to Aruba and this property was the perfect location for us. We stayed in OCEAN 2 which faced the beach. Here we enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets every night and dinners outside on the porch in the warmth of the Caribbean. Our room was relaxing, comfortable and clean. Everything we needed was available: hot plates, toaster, coffee maker, silverware, dishes etc. It was very peaceful and quiet. You hear the ocean waves and the gentle breezes, birdsong and footprints in the sand. Beach chairs and towels were provided, a barbeque is on site and a pool. Lovely little lizards scurry about and aloe grows freely among gardens with flowering plants and palm trees. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We loved this location, because it was away from the crowded resorts. You can really enjoy the island without all the hustle and bustle of a big hotel. Palm Beach is not so far down the road, so you have it as an option to explore for nightlife or dinner. With a car everything seems very close. I really can't say enough about the Sunset Beach Studios...there are so many wonderful things to talk about. The list just goes on and on....If your going to Aruba, we highly recommend staying here. You will not be disappointed. It is romantic, relaxing and the hosts are fabulous. The island is incredible! We will definitely be returning to Aruba and Sunset Beach Studios. Thank you Eva, JP and all of the staff...it was fabulous!!!
This was our second stay. Eve, JP and staff made us feel at home. Amazing views of the beach. Easy access to beach, Island amenities, and services. Private, peaceful, and well kept. The staff are helpful, provide useful information, and go out of their way to be available. Very affordable, even in high season. Close proximity to water sports. We are booked for next year!
The owners of this hotel have done a good job of making the rooms comfortable. If you're looking for a quiet place just off the beach, free of tourist shops, as well as to be able to make your own coffee in the morning and then walk outside your door to be greeted by a great tropical view, then this place is perfect. We loved the place. Our last look every evening was the beautiful sunset. We enjoyed our stay and we will be back !!!! No more major hotels when traveling to Aruba, Sunset Beach Studios has everything we need.
We had our first visit at the studios for 10 days December 6th-16th. We got in after the office had closed but they were kind enough to put some Amstel Brights, limes, Douwe Egbert's coffee and bagels in the unit for us. We watched the sun set across from our terrace, the first of many more. This is a great location for those who are not dependent on a resort to have a good time. This was our 4th visit to Aruba, and we were ready for something a little different and this was just what we needed. I have stayed at the Holiday Inn, the Marriott Ocean Club and the Phoenix at Divi, and I don't think we will ever do the high rise vacation again. The landscaping is quaint and very pretty, some iguanas scutter around, a couple of kitties make appearances, the maids, Ida and Flores, were accommodating and friendly. The office staff, Monique and Bianca, also very nice and accommodating. This has more of a European flavor to the surroundings and to the other guests, which is very nice. Why travel all that way just to spend all your time around a bunch of noisy Americans? This was more like a true vacation and we loved the Ukranians from Chicago who were next door. Very sweet couple with whom we shared a meal in the palapa and many drinks on the terraces. Don't hesitate to stay here, Boca Catalina is just up the road and we had many nice days snorkeling there. Arashi was a nice beach but the constant tour buses make it a little less nice. Rent a car and go down to Mangel Halto if you want to find some good snorkeling without a lot of people around. We will be back, we really enjoyed it tremendously. Go for the ocean view studios and rent a car, you won't regret it.
My wife and I have been vacationg on Aruba for the last twenty or so years. We have stayed at all the best reorts with all the creature comforts. Last year we decided to take a gamble and try Aruba Sunset Studios. It was the best choice we have made since our first visit. Staff was great, studios were refreshing and quaint, enjoyed the intimate atmosphere. We are now on counting down with 49 days until our next visit. Can't wait!!!
My girlfriend and I spent a week at Sunset Beach Studios and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. The entire staff was friendly and the configuration of the studios-- with the pool/jacuzzi centrally located-- allowed us to meet many fellow vacationers. If it gives you any indication of the quality of the studios, some of the folks we met had been returning for more than ten years! The studios are a little less than the "high rise" area of Aruba. While there is a very useful bus that passes along the main road in front of the studios, I recommend renting a car unless you are the sort that really enjoys taking walks (car rentals are quite inexpensive anyway). The most attractive feature of the studios, however, is undoubtedly the location. We visited at least eight beaches while in Aruba, and the beach closest to the studios was our favorite beyond any doubt. The water was clear, the sand was pristine, the wildlife was playful, and the walk to it all was only ten minutes. We've made several trips in the past few years-- Hawaii, Costa Rica, Jamaica-- but we found ourselves saying that Aruba was our favorite of them all. I don't think we would be saying that with such enthusiasm had we not stayed at Sunset Beach Studios. JP and Eve (the owners) have put together something amazing and I encourage to you to take the trip to meet them!
This is our 12th year at Sunset and each year is more memorable than the previous one. In 2000 we discovered our Caribbean get away and fell in love with everything about the property. JP and Eef along with Monique and Bianca provide a gracious introduction to the gentle laid back life at Sunset. Aida and Flores are the attentive staff that really keep the place running smoothly and immaculate. We look forward each year to our visit, knowing that the days will be restful and rewarding to our lives.
This was our 3rd time staying at the Sunset Beach Studios. We have always had wonderful service and the property is well cared for and rooms are very clean and comfortable. Eve and JP are very personable and friendly and go out of their way to accommodate their guests. The staff that work at this property are also very kind and willing to help in any way to make sure the guests are well cared for and taken care of. We will continue to return to the Sunset Beach Studios when we stay in Aruba.
My week's stay at Sunset Studios is one of the most enjoyable I experienced even with the many years of my globe trotting, often solo. I am still bewildered at the extreme kindness of all the staff, very informed Bianca, the cleanliness of the studios and the entire compound, thanks Aida and Flores. Friendly and knowledgeable Monique who even took me to San Nicolas to experience one of the many festivals offered in Aruba. I was impressed with the people and culture of Aruba and hope to make future visits and will certainly stay at Sunset Studios as it provides you with all your needs.
We had a really great stay at Sunset Beach Studios, the hospitality we encountered from the staff, their helpful tips & the cleanliness of our studio made us want to stay and never leave !! The peace and quiet of Sunset Beach, with the ocean just in front of your doorstep and swimming pool at the patio, made our ten day stay a stay in blissful paradise, it truly did !! Sipping a cocktail underneath the big banana-leaf parasol with other guests/friends or in total privacy on our own terrace, it all was possible..magnificent !! Dear Sunset Beach owners & staff, thanks big time for making it all possible, never a high-rise hotel vacation for me again !! Greetz from the Netherlands, Arjan Hilbolling.
Hi We've just returned from our 10 day vacation on this beautiful island. I've found this location by chance and must say: We couldn't have done better. The location is perfect for people who want to be on their own and not always amongst the crowded hotels. Don't be scared: with a car or by bus you are in the middle of life in short time. We also would like to thank JP /Eve & all their colleagues for taking care of us and providing a superb service at a very reasonable price. Just go there and explore yourself. cheers ralf
Sunset Beach provided exactly what I was looking for: peace and quiet but close enough to everything Aruba has to offer! The place is cozy and very homey, and the studios are super clean and very comfortable. And I can't say enough about the hospitality: very attentive and personal as well as friendly and very helpful. I came to spend my birthday in Aruba and I even got a birthday present from the owner Eve!! Both Eve and Monique were the nicest hostess you could wish for!! Thanks for a memorable birthday and such a great time!! I highly recommend Sunset Beach Studios!
We had a fantastic time in the Sunset Beach Studios. A place away from the crowds. The entire staff is super friendly and everyone goes out of their way to help you, whether it is about where to go, books to read, the address of an MD, whatever. The studios are clean, well maintained and the gardens and swimming pool were great. Also it is very nice that guests can use the BBQs. The atmosphere is calm, friendly and relaxed and personal. We had a wonderful time, so thank you Eef, Bianca, Monique, JP, Aida,Flores and the maintenance man. If we come back to Aruba we definitely hope to come back to Sunset Beach Studios.
My husband found Sunset Beach Studios by accident on Aruba Rentals. After I looked at the pictures and description, I couldn't look at any other place. We had planned to spend our 25th anniversary in Aruba in July 2012. Sunset Beach Studios is perfect. If you are looking to be spoiled by a resort, this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for a relaxing apartment close to everything and a friendly staff, this is your place. The staff treats you like family and are always smiling and helpful. They even printed our return boarding passes for us. Our studio was Ocean View 1. It was small (perfect for 2 adults) and comfy. The bed was actually 2 twins pushed together, but the frame was an interesting South American solid wood frame: very comfortable. The studio is clean and airy; it is cleaned everyday and you can get clean towels if you want or keep the same ones for several days. The grounds are neat and homey. The pool is clean; the hot tub is clean; there are 2 outdoor grills for cooking your own meals at the studio. We had a full sized refrigerator in our room. Our studio looked out onto the ocean, so I enjoyed my morning coffee and evening drink on the porch watching the catamarans sail by. The beach is not a sandy beach, but we snorkeled out to the shipwreck that sits about 100 yards out; you'll need some sort of water shoe to swim here. It was exciting snorkeling in our own front yard. Malmok Beach is a short walk down the coast or a walk along the ocean. This was the best place for snorkeling and it was within walking distance from our room. It offers a small sandy beach and easy access to the water. We rented a Jeep and drove ourselves everywhere easily. I definitely recommend spending extra on a 4-wheel drive so you can see all the sites that the island offers. I could go on and on. I loved Aruba Sunset Beach Studios and hope to visit again someday! PS The cats visit daily. If you like animals, buy some cat treats for the morning and evening visits!
This is my family's 4th time spending a week at Sunset Beach Studios and we had another fabulous time! Can't say enough about Eve, JP and staff - very accommodating. Loved the clean rooms, refreshing pool, cooking/dining out in the pool/patio area, feeding flowers to our "pet" iguanas, Al and Iggy. Nice remodeling done to the main house to make more individually rented studios - we stayed in the Large Ocean 1(liked the extra living room area) and Garden 1 studio, which were perfect for us. The snorkeling about a mile north of the studios (where you see all the booze cruise boats anchored) is the best on the island. The walk to the natural pool from the horse farm is something we always look forward to. Aruba is an island where you just rent a car and go - can stop and eat/drink anywhere without worry of getting sick. Ling & Sons is a well-stocked grocery store. Recommend the Sate platter at the Paddock down by the docks in Oranjestad. Also the restaurant at the end of the Raddisson Hotel's pier is great at sunset and loved the band! The new restaurant Flying Fishbone in Savaneta is well worth the drive - excellent food and who wouldn't want to end dinner with their toes in the ocean?!! Barrie W
Dear Sunset Beach Staff! Thank you for all your hospitality and kindness. We had a great time staying at your Garden View Studio. It felt like at home but in Sunny Aruba ! Best Regards, Dorota, Ewa and Regina
