Snorkeling, SUP-, Surf- and Boogie Boarding
You can SUP-, surf or boogie board right in front of your own studio! We are also directly located at several nice snorkeling sites: Boca Catalina, Arashi Beach and Antilla wreck. Snorkeling equipment, SUP-, surf- and boogie boards for rent in our Sunset office.
Kitesurfing, windsurfing, landsailing, mountain biking
We work together with Aruba Active Vacations (AAV), located half a mile from our studios. Tell AAV-owner Wim Eelens or one of his employees you’re a Sunset-guest and receive a 10% discount on all lessons and rentals.
Horseback Riding
We can make an appointment for you with Rancho Notorious, home of Aruba’s Happy Horses. Tours for first time riders and all skill levels: sand dunes, country side, beach and sea tours.
The Butterfly Farm
Beautiful butterflies from all over the world. Observe the life cycle of these fascinating animals from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly. Your admission ticket ($15 adult / $8 child) gives you a free pass for the rest of your vacaction.
Sail and snorkel cruise ‘Tranquilo’
Captain Anthony Hagedoorn sails with small groups. He makes sure safety and personal attention are top priority. You can go for the lunch cruise to the south side of Aruba and drift snorkeling at a secluded reef island at Spanish Lagoon. Or try the shorter sunset trip with snorkel stop.
Deep Sea Fishing
Catch mahi mahi, wahoo, kings, tuna or a barracuda with Captain Peter. The trip starts and ends at Hadicurari Marina, in between Holiday Inn and Marriott. The Captain can make arrangements with restaurant Salt & Pepper where they only charge you $12.50 p.p. for a complete meal of your own caught fish!
Golf at Tierra del Sol
Tierra del Sol, at the island's northwest tip, is Aruba's first world-class golf course. The 18-hole, par-71 course was designed by Robert Trent Jones II to take full advantage of its rugged natural surroundings. The course manages to pair peerless course design with a celebration of Aruba's wildlife. It is just a few minutes drive down the street from Sunset Beach Studios.
National Archaeological Museum of Aruba
The permanent exhibit conveys through archeological objects and modern exhibition techniques information on the origin and culture of the first inhibitants of Aruba. Very impressive! Opening hours are Tue – Fri from 10am till 5pm. Sat – Sun 10am till 2pm. Entrance FREE. Schelpstraat 42, downtown Oranjestad.
